Latitude vs Wind speed

The plot shows the cities wind speeds in relation to the latitude. I don't know of any expectations in relation to wind speeds.

From the plot there doesn't appear to be any correlation between the wind speeds and the latitude.

It does show that along the equator the wind speed doesn't go over 10km/h.
